Tony Hawk’s skateboard from his iconic 1999 “900” trick has sold for around $1.15 million, Julien’s Auctions announced on Wednesday (September 24). The sale set a new record for skateboarding memorabilia, more than doubling its pre-auction estimate. According to Julien’s, the auction took place on Tuesday at the Loews Hollywood Hotel and online, setting multiple milestones for the 57-year-old American, who became the first skater to land the two-and-a-half-revolution aerial, known as the “900, at the 1999 X Games in San Francisco.
