Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has been given a rare tour of China’s secretive Aviation Industry Corporation in Chengdu, becoming the first foreign head of state to receive such access. Zardari, accompanied by his family, was briefed on advanced Chinese military hardware, including the J-10 and J-20 fighter jets, as well as the JF-17 co-produced with Pakistan. His 10-day visit follows trips by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, underscoring Islamabad’s push to replenish military losses from India’s Operation Sindoor. China, which supplies over 80% of Pakistan’s arms, continues to deepen defence ties with Islamabad.
