#Firstpost Nepal Protests LIVE: Protesters Burn Ministers’ Quarters in Lalitpur | Nepal Anti-Corruption Protest
Protests in Nepal have entered their second day. The country’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has resigned along with 4 other ministers. Thousands of protesters clashed with riot police in Kathmandu, hurling stones at them. The police fired tear gas and rubber bullets in response. The protests escalated after clashes on September 8 killed at least 19 people. Demonstrators stormed and vandalised the President Ram Chandra Poudel’s private residence, leaving at least 19 dead. The unrest was sparked by outrage over a social media ban that was later revoked, as well as widespread government corruption.
