Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned following two days of intense Gen Z-led protests marked by violent clashes, arson, and widespread demands to end rampant corruption. Thousands of protesters celebrated Oli’s resignation but continued to clash with security forces, resulting in at least 19 deaths and 400 injuries in Kathmandu. Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and former PM Sher Bahadur Deuba were attacked, while government buildings and residences, including the President Ram Chandra Poudel’s home, were ransacked and set ablaze. India has increased border security and is monitoring the crisis, calling for a peaceful resolution as Nepal faces political uncertainty.
