The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) F/A-18D fighter jet that went down on Thursday (21 August) at Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport, also known as Kuantan Air Base, was on a routine night training mission. A viral video, allegedly showing the crash, captured the aircraft engulfed in flames moments after take-off. Both the pilot and co-pilot ejected safely, with no fatalities reported. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has ordered a “thorough investigation” into the incident.
