Israeli military confirmed implementation of ceasefire in Gaza. This came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed approval of the US-brokered Gaza peace deal. Earlier, Trump confirmed his visit to the region on October 12. Gaza ceasefire deal, negotiated in Egypt, promises a ceasefire as well as a prisoner-hostage exchange between Israel and Hamas, paving the way for the end of the war in Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the agreement as a “momentous development.” India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated both Trump and Netanyahu, calling it a “historic step toward peace.”
