LIVE: Cloudbursts Hit Uttarakhand’s Chamoli, Dehradun; Extreme Weather The New Normal? |Planet Pulse
Heavy rains, caused by a cloudburst, lashed the north Indian city of Dehradun on September 16 in Uttarakhand. It led to flash floods and landslides in the popular tourist spot. The deadly spell killed at least 13 people, while several remain missing. The floodwater inundated roads, washed away bridges, and damaged properties. The extreme weather also impacted areas around Dehradun, including Mussoorie, Chamoli, and Rishikesh. These torrential rains were not just a usual monsoon phenomenon. There was more to it.
