A mass is held at Sao Roque church in Lisbon, in memory of four staff of Santa Casa da Misericordia, who died when a streetcar packed with tourists and locals derailed in the Portuguese capital, killing 16 people. The distinctive yellow-and-white Elevador da Gloria came off its rails and smashed into a building on a narrow, steep street in the Portuguese capital on Wednesday evening. The government’s Office for Air and Rail Accident Investigations says it has concluded its analysis of the wreckage and will issue a preliminary report Friday. Of the 21 people who were injured in the derailment, five remained in serious condition Thursday.
