Heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding in Italy’s coastal province of Massa and Carrara in Tuscany. The national fire service, Vigili del Fuoco, carried out more than 40 rescue operations as streets and homes were submerged. Local authorities ordered the closure of schools, parks, and public spaces, while several nearby towns, including Livorno and Pisa, took similar precautions. Officials warned that another wave of severe weather was expected to hit northern Tuscany soon.
