A massive forest fire gripped northern Morocco, with at least 8 aircraft and 450 personnel deployed to fight the blazes. The fire, which is largely under control now, devastated nearly 500 hectares of forests and fields. Morocco’s Forest Agency said it was the largest fire of the year, with flames spreading due to rugged terrain and strong winds. In parts of the Chefchaouen region, the fire approached houses and petrol pumps.
