#FirstpostNews: Trump Links Autism to Vaccines and Prenatal Tylenol, Sparking Criticism
US President Donald Trump suggested a link between autism, childhood vaccines, and the use of Tylenol by pregnant women, giving medical advice that goes against established scientific guidance. At a White House news conference, Trump advised parents to delay vaccines and avoid the painkiller during pregnancy, while promoting leucovorin, a form of folic acid, as a potential treatment for autism symptoms. His claims have not been scientifically verified and have drawn strong criticism from the American Academy of Paediatrics, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and other medical and autism advocacy groups.
Tylenol maker Kenvue issued a statement saying, “We believe independent, sound science clearly shows that taking acetaminophen does not cause autism. We strongly disagree with any suggestion otherwise and are deeply concerned with the health risk this poses for expecting mothers and parents.”
