A sudden and intense hailstorm hit Tarija, a city in southern Bolivia, on Thursday (October 16), flooding streets and forcing residents to sweep away piles of hailstones. The storm lasted around 30 minutes and came after temperatures had risen above 30°C earlier in the day. Media reports said the city, located near the Argentina border, had also witnessed two hailstorms in September.
