Violent clashes broke out in Dhaka, Bangladesh over the weekend as thousands of government school teachers demanding better pay and promotion reforms confronted police near Shahbagh. Authorities used water cannons to disperse the protesters, who were marching from the Central Shaheed Minar as part of their “Pen Surrender March.” At least 120 people were injured.
