Austria: Rally Against “Antisemitic” Event Held At The Parliament | N18G

Dozens of protesters gathered in Vienna on Tuesday to oppose an event organized by Austria’s first far-right parliamentary speaker, which critics have condemned as antisemitic. Historians had urged Speaker Walter Rosenkranz to cancel an event honoring Nazi-linked figure Franz Dinghofer. Critics call it a “tribute to antisemitism” inside Parliament. Walter Rosenkranz, a Freedom Party (FPOe) lawmaker elected speaker after his party topped national polls last year, has faced backlash over an event scheduled for November 11 in parliament. The event is named after Franz Dinghofer, a former Austrian vice chancellor from the 1920s who later became a member of the Nazi Party in 1940.
