Ex-Karnataka MLA Injured After Being Gored by Bull During Hori Festival
Former Shikaripura MLA Mahalingappa was injured after being gored by a bull during the Hori festival at Balligavi in Shikaripura taluk, Shivamogga district. The Hori festival is a traditional rural sport where decorated bulls and draught cattle run through crowds as spectators attempt to subdue them. Mahalingappa, who was watching the event from the doorway of his house, was suddenly charged at and gored by a bull. The dramatic incident was captured on mobile phones by locals. The former MLA was taken to a hospital for treatment and is now out of danger.
