US President Donald Trump said the US will work closely with Iran — with tariff and sanctions relief on the table — after both sides agreed to a two-week truce. He hailed the ceasefire as a “big day for world peace”. Mr Trump also signalled that the US could help ease congestion in the critical Strait of Hormuz, as traffic begins to build up again. Dr H A Hellyer, senior associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence, shared more about the 11th-hour deal.
