DHL adjusts to shifting US trade rules, calls Asia its ‘second home’: CEO
German logistics giant DHL has boosted earnings in its international shipping business by staying flexible and adjusting operations in response to shifting United States trade rules, says its chief executive Tobias Meyer. DHL reported a higher-than-expected third-quarter operating profit of 1.5 billion euros (US$1.8 billion) on Thursday (Nov 6), beating analysts’ expectations. Speaking to CNA’s Roland Lim, Meyer adds that Asia remains a key focus for the company, even as US trade rules weigh on global shipments.
