According to scriptures, Lord Dhanvantari appeared on this day with the pot of nectar during the churning of the ocean.For this reason, this date is known as Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi. Therefore, along with Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Dhanvantari is also worshipped on this day. Furthermore, worship of Kubera Maharaj is also practiced on this day. In the year 2025, Dhanteras will be celebrated on October 18th.
