Extreme athletes have taken winter sports to new heights, performing biathlon and curling on a platform attached to a hot air balloon 1,700 meters above central Russia. Braving temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius, the project combined Olympic disciplines with skydiving and ballooning to create a record-setting spectacle. Brazilian athlete Carol Chafauzer said sport continues to connect people across borders – even at breathtaking altitudes.
