CNN Sergio Pérez on what’s fuelled his return to F1

Lining up on the F1 grid for the very first time this season will be a brand new team: the American backed Cadillac F1 Team. They may be a start-up but they boast two of the most experienced drivers on the grid in Sérgio Perez and Valtteri Bottas. Pérez took a break from the sport last season having lost his Red Bull seat at the end of the 2024 season, a period he admits was “very difficult”. Now with Cadillac, the Mexican comes back with a point to prove and a new chapter to write. As he’s been telling CNN’s Amanda Davies while podium finishes may not be realistic just yet, the unpredictability of the season’s new rules changes could shake-up the grid like never before. #CNN #sport
