Hundreds of thousands of Afghans worked with the U.S. and its allies during the 20-year war. When the Taliban took over in August 2021, many were left behind. One doctor says she was promised relocation to America — but after President Trump returned to the White House this year and cancelled refugee programs, she’s still trapped in Afghanistan.
