SEC Chair Paul Atkins on making private investments more accessible to public investors
SEC Chairman Paul Atkins on Friday voiced support for the idea of making investments in private institutions more accessible to the majority of public investors through 401(k) plans, IRAs and other funds.

“Who’s to say that normal investors…should not be allowed to diversify,” Atkins said, though he noted “there have to be proper guardrails around it.”
