Year-end renovation rush: Demand for low-formaldehyde materials driving prices up

Homeowners are facing longer wait times and higher prices for some renovation materials. In some cases, delays are now stretching by as much as two weeks longer than earlier this year. This is because of the rush to complete such projects before the year closes. Contractors say demand for alternative materials with less harmful chemicals is also adding to the pressure.
