CNA Venezuelans at home and abroad react to President Maduro’s capture by US forces

Mixed reactions emerged among Venezuelans at home and abroad following the ouster of President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday (Jan 3).

Maduro and his wife were removed from Venezuela on Saturday by US forces in a raid and are facing drug and narco-terrorism charges in New York.

In some countries, members of the Venezuelan diaspora gathered to celebrate, waving flags and singing. In Caracas, government supporters held a vigil near the presidential palace of Miraflores, chanting “We want Maduro”, while others burned the United States flag. #venezuela #usnews #maduro
