CNA UK-China relations: PM Starmer hails China’s ‘vital role’ as he meets President Xi in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping has echoed the UK’s call for more cooperation and better ties after a decade of friction on trade and security. Prime Minister Keir Starmer is the first British leader to visit China in eight years. He hailed relations as being in a “good, strong place”. Olly Barratt and Tan Yew Guan report.
