Trump’s Iran strategy unclear despite ‘significant progress’ in talks: Analyst

Iran and the United States made “significant progress” in nuclear talks held in Switzerland on Thursday (Feb 26), mediators said, with further discussions to take place next week in Austria. The talks come amid heightened US military deployments in the Middle East and repeated threats of force by President Donald Trump. Speaking to CNA’s Asia First, Alex Vatanka, senior fellow at the Middle East Institute, says the central issue is clarity over Trump’s ultimate objective.
