CNA Singapore’s dead bird hotline received record 650 reports last year
A hotline dedicated to receiving reports on dead birds in Singapore recorded around 650 reports last year — its largest number yet and an increase of more than five-fold as compared with 2020. The leading cause of death is building collisions, while window strikes are common. Singapore’s only natural history museum, which runs the hotline, is calling for greater awareness on how to minimise such incidents. An expert said one easy way to prevent window strikes is to draw curtains so windows look opaque. Natalie Ong reports.
