Severe floods leave over 1,000 tourists stranded in Hat Yai

More than 1,000 tourists were stranded in Hat Yai after heavy rain hit southern Thailand last Wednesday (Nov 19), causing severe flooding. Rising waters have cut off major roads, isolating hotels and leaving tourists trapped as authorities race to deliver aid and evacuate those affected.

Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday (Nov 24) that its embassy in Bangkok is working closely with Thai authorities to assist affected Singaporeans.

Malaysia’s foreign ministry also reported that around 4,000 of its citizens have been impacted, urging them to stay alert and await evacuation orders from local authorities. #thailand #thainews
