CNA Rubio clarifies what US running Venezuela means; Trump threatens Venezuela’s new Acting President

Days after US Forces ousted Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro by capturing him in a lightning strike, his deputy Delcy Rodriguez is now acting president. President Trump warned Rodriguez she could face a fate worse than her predecessor if she doesn’t comply with US demands, saying “if she doesn’t do what’s right, she is going to pay a very big price, probably bigger than Maduro”.

The Venezuelan leader Maduro is expected to be arraigned in New York on charges involving narco-terrorism and cocaine importation. The US claims it was legitimate in serving an arrest warrant against Maduro, whom they consider an illegitimate ruler and drug trafficker. Legal scholars question the ability to prove Maduro was the head of an international drug cartel.
