CNA Powerful storm sinks phinisi ship off South Denpasar, Bali

A phinisi — a traditional sailboat from South Sulawesi — sank after being struck by strong winds in waters off Serangan in South Denpasar, Bali, on Dec 27. No casualties were reported.

Authorities said the anchored vessel tilted to the left in sudden gusts, causing it to eventually sink. They added that witnesses and workers jumped into the sea and were assisted by a lifeboat, before being safely evacuated to the shore at Serangan Beach. #indonesia #indonesianews #bali
