CNA Number of scam cases in Singapore fell 27.6% in 2025, cybercrime down by 24.8%
Singapore recorded a drop in overall scam and cybercrime cases in 2025. Cases fell about 25% to nearly 42,000, down from almost 56,000 in 2024. In particular, scam cases dropped for the first time in eight years – down more than a quarter to over 37,000 cases. Total scam losses declined some 18% to over S$900 million in 2025, down from a record S$1.1 billion the year before. E-commerce, phishing and job scams made up the highest number of cases in 2025. Adults aged 30 to 49 accounted for the largest share of scam victims, and those aged 65 and above suffered the highest average losses. Noah Kong reports on the annual scam statistics.
