CNA Middle East faces ‘new normal’ of overt military conflict, says analyst

As the war on Iran approaches its one-month mark, the region continues to see tit-for-tat strikes and threats of further escalation. Tehran has vowed revenge while fiercely fighting back. It has launched more than 3,000 missiles and drones, targeting United States and Israeli bases as well as crucial infrastructure in the Gulf. Behnam Ben Taleblu, senior fellow and senior director of the Iran Program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, tells CNA’s Asia First that the Iranian regime is weak but “certainly still lethal”.
