CNA Israel-Hamas ceasefire: Sticking points include Hamas disarmament and withdrawal of Israeli troops

Phase 2 of US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan may have begun, but a crucial part of this second stage – getting Hamas to disarm and Israeli forces to withdraw – is proving a tough sell. As for rebuilding a territory in ruins, that is still a pipe dream. There is also a humanitarian crisis that has yet to be addressed. Blake Sifton filed this report for CNA from Tel Aviv.
