CNA Iran to allow Malaysian vessels to pass through Strait of Hormuz: PM Anwar Ibrahim

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said in a televised address on Thursday evening (Mar 26) that Iran will allow Malaysian oil vessels and workers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

He added that he also spoke with the president of Iran and leaders of other countries in the region to de-escalate the conflict. Mr Anwar said his government will maintain oil price subsidies for Malaysians, but needs to take steps to mitigate the impact of supply disruptions, such as reductions in the monthly allocations of subsidised fuel.
