CNA Indonesia grants national hero status to late President Suharto

Indonesia’s late president Suharto has been granted national hero status. The title was conferred at a ceremony, presided over by President Prabowo Subianto. The National Hero of Indonesia is the country’s highest civilian honour, awarded posthumously for deeds deemed heroic. But the recognition has sparked accusations of historical revisionism in the world’s third-largest democracy. Saifulbahri Ismail reports from Jakarta.
