CNA Facial recognition clearance for motorcyclists at land checkpoints to be rolled out from Mar 31

🏍️ Returning from JB to Singapore by motorbike? You will soon be able to clear immigration with facial recognition. Here’s how it works.

Facial scans will replace fingerprint scanning for motorcyclists entering Singapore through Woodlands Checkpoint from Mar 31, 2026. This will be progressively extended to all motorcycle lanes in Woodlands Checkpoint, as well as Tuas Checkpoint later this year. The change is especially useful on rainy days, when wet fingerprints are harder to detect, authorities say.
