CNA Deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar killed in plane crash

Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra state in India and a close ally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was killed in a plane crash on Wednesday (Jan 28). The directorate general of Civil Aviation confirmed that there were no survivors among the five people on board the chartered Learjet 45 that crashed while attempting to land in Baramati.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion and seeing plumes of smoke at the crash site, with the plane’s tail visible amid the debris. An investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the crash. https://cna.asia/3ZAQkjB
