CNA Calls from Singapore police to bear single, prefixed number to clamp down on scams

A new phone number prefix will soon help Singaporeans sniff out scam calls from genuine ones by the police. The Home Affairs Ministry announced this latest push in the fight against scams. Other measures include new sentencing guidelines for the misuse of SIM cards. Government officials impersonation scams in 2025 more than doubled from the year before to reach almost 3,400 cases.
