CNA ASEAN aims to hold monthly meetings with China to discuss Code of Conduct
ASEAN Chair the Philippines has highlighted that the bloc must uphold long-standing principles to maintain regional peace and stability. Manila hosted its first major ministerial meeting in Cebu, where top diplomats discussed southeast Asia’s most pressing issues. The Philippines said it is hopeful it can start monthly face-to-face talks with China, in a bid to speed up progress on a Code of Conduct on the South China Sea. Leong Wai Kit reports.
