Warming waters and shrinking sea ice in the Arctic are opening up new shipping lanes and access to vast natural resources. It’s sparked a race for influence in the High North where the US, Russia and China are vying to expand their presence. But navigating these icy waters requires specialised ships known as icebreakers.
