When the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan again in 2021, women and girls were swiftly barred from playing sports. Many left their families behind to survive. Now, some Afghan female athletes are rebuilding their lives – and their sporting careers – in Australia. Four years on, they say they are fighting not just for themselves, but for girls back home.
