Chinese evacuees from Iran arrive in Azerbaijan
Amid rising security risks in Iran, over 260 Chinese citizens had crossed into Azerbaijan in recent days as part of an evacuation effort coordinated by the Chinese embassy. On Tuesday, evacuees arriving in Baku were greeted with warm bowls of tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) in celebration of the Lantern Festival. “They made us feel at home,” an evacuee said.
