China’s top legislator Zhao Leji calls for practicing GCI, opposes ideological confrontation
In this day and age, it is important that we implement Global Civilization Initiative, respect culture diversity, champion values of humanity and reject clashes of civilizations and ideological confrontation, China’s top legislator Zhao Leji said at a plenary of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2026 on Thursday. Zhao, chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, also urges to open up a new chapter of exchanges, harmony and close people-to-people bond for all countries of the world and promote the progress of human civilization.
