China reiterates opposition to hegemonism, power politics
China will continue to oppose hegemonism and power politics, uphold international fairness and justice, according to a government work report submitted on Thursday to the country’s top legislature for deliberation.

China will remain committed to an independent foreign policy of peace and peaceful development and expand its global network of partnerships, the report said.

The country stands ready to work with all members of the international community to promote an equal and orderly multipolar world as well as universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, and pursue the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, according to the report.

China will also actively participate in the reform and development of the global governance system, and make the international order more just and equitable, the report said.

“In doing so, we will jointly build a community with a shared future for humanity and create a bright future of peace and development for our world,” the report stated.

According to a draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) submitted on the same day for review, China will also step up its efforts to counter foreign sanctions, external interference and long-arm jurisdiction.#chinaagenda2026
