China gears up for crewed moon landing by 2030
China is gearing up for a crewed moon landing by 2030. The China Manned Space Agency says key projects including the Long March 10 rocket, Mengzhou spacecraft and Lanyue lander are progressing smoothly.

A series of key tests have been successively completed. They include a zero-altitude abort flight test for the Mengzhou spacecraft, an integrated landing and takeoff test for the Lanyue lunar lander, tethered ignition tests for the Long March 10 rocket, and the low-altitude demonstration of the Long March 10 rocket and a high-speed abort test of the Mengzhou crewed spacecraft under maximum aerodynamic pressure.

In 2026, efforts will be dedicated to advancing the construction of supporting facilities and equipment for the lunar mission at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, as well as the development of various ground support systems, including Tracking, Telemetry and Command (TT&C), communications and the landing site.
