Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi openly hinted that Japan could intervene militarily in China’s Taiwan region during a parliamentary session earlier this month. Regarding her provocative remarks, CGTN Stringer interviewed locals in the Philippines. Joel Sarmienta, a faculty member from World Citi College, said that Takaichi’s remarks were “very questionable and really off the mark.” Kyla Benedicto, a student from Manila, said that government officials should take responsibility for the impact their words may have on the public.
