CGTN Videos capture first moments of the deadly fire in Swiss bar

Videos published on social platform X show the first moments of the deadly fire in a bar of the ski resort of Crans-Montana in Switzerland on January 1.

Swiss authorities said in their latest news conference that the fire likely started from sparkling candles, sparklers put on bottles of champagne, and were moved too close to the ceiling.

The fire spread very quickly after it started, which caused a panic in the bar, as revealed in the videos.

At least 40 people were killed and 119 injured.
