CGTN This bridge is built for wildlife to cross highway
In south China’s Shenzhen, a unique bridge is helping wildlife reclaim lost territory. The Kunpeng Trail No. 1 Bridge, completed in 2023, reconnects Meilin and Yinhu mountains after decades of urban development cut off natural migration routes. Built over a busy highway, more than 90% of the structure is designed specifically for animals, creating a safe ecological corridor in one of the world’s fastest-growing cities. Eden Soto Alva reports from Shenzhen on how this innovative project is quietly stitching nature back together.
