Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing on November 20 that Russia’s principled position is well known: Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and the Taiwan question is China’s internal affair. China, she added, has every legitimate right to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity. As a friend and reliable partner of China on the international stage, Russia is ready to continue to support China on issues related to sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the Taiwan question.
