CGTN Putin: If U.S. buys Russian nuclear fuel, why can’t India buy our oil?

In an interview aired on December 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin questioned U.S. pressure on India to stop buying Russian oil. He pointed out that the U.S. still purchases nuclear fuel from Russia for its own nuclear power plants, arguing that India should likewise have the right to buy Russian oil as fuel. India, for its part, has repeatedly stressed that tariffs imposed by the Trump administration are unreasonable and unfair, while noting that the U.S. continues to maintain trade ties with Russia.
